My name is Tannis. I am a creative Entrepreneur, workshop facilitator and perpetual dreamer.
My greatest fulfillment comes from bearing witness to those who create something, anything, that they had no idea they could!
Let me help you bring more creativity to your life.
My vision for A Pinch of Creativity is to create an in person and online community where women all over the world can connect, and feel encouraged to be courageous and be uplifted as they grow into their own creative journey and healing.
I do believe that bringing a creative practice to your life, even in little amounts can heal trauma. Creativity allows for a sheltered space to process through your wounds, rather than pushing them down into the parts of us we keep hidden. I know this from my own experience, and a life of significant traumatic events in which I continue to use creativity as the best healing engine there is!
A little bit about me.
In 2011, after leaving my job to advocate for the learning and teaching of my daughter, who was born with a learning disability, I began A Pinch of Creativity. I started as a paper crafter, loving every day that I got to work with my hands. I shared my work online, selling at Farmers Markets, craft fairs and trade shows.
I tend to like change and experimenting with my creativity. I am always searching for ways to grow and learn and expand in all areas of my life. So, it should be no surprise when the day came that I decided I wanted to learn to paint, and so I did!
My style of painting is very intuitive. I use a variety of materials, including acrylic ink, acrylic paint, collage, and gold leaf. I work with many layers on each painting, some which are revealed, others which remain covered by my work. This process is very cathartic and healing for me.
I believe that we are all creative beings.
While I am deeply inspired by traveling and seeing the beauty the world has to offer, I am equally inspired by guiding and teaching others on their own creative journeys.
My desire is to share my creative journey with you, and while I do, I hope to inspire, teach and encourage you!
I hope you will grab a coffee, a cup of tea, or a glass of wine and stay a while. I love having you here.
